life update

I've had writer's block the last few days and just couldn't think of anything interesting to write about. So today's post is a little life update and highlights from the past week.

Gnocchi with homemade three cheese sauce

Artwork finally up!

Sunday morning road trip along the coast
for breakfast (with no makeup and no time to do my hair haha)

The best burger you will ever taste

Friday casual dress at work - a little
leopard print never hurt nobody

Peonies and the new (pretty) book I am reading

My new artwork again

My peonies - I was so excited I found these at the
Boatshed as they're not in season at the moment
and are so hard to find (not to mention expensive)!
Sometimes you just have to treat yourself.

Sunday breakfast shared with my sister

My favourite tea on the couch
(Entourage is on in the background as usual)

-Our artwork finally went up on the walls in our living area and I am in love. It's amazing how much artwork can change an area - it has really brightened up our space and gives it just the right amount of punch and energy!
-I fit in a few pilates classes - my absolute favourite form of exercise.
-After Friday night drinks at work I picked Matt up and we stopped in and got my favourite takeaway, Short Order burgers. They are seriously the best burger you will ever taste. If you live close to Fremantle do yourself a favour and head there for dinner sometime soon!
-Saturday morning I visited my grandma in her nursing home and we took her out to the local shops for lunch. I also had too much fun picking out a cute present for a new baby in the family. I can't get over how adorable and tiny baby clothes are. God help me when I have my first baby, I wont be able to stop myself!
-After working on a Saturday (not a usual occurrence) I treated myself to a beautiful bunch of lilac/pink peonies from my favourite store - The Boatshed in Cottesloe.
-I also cooked the most delicious gnocchi's with a three cheese sauce for dinner Saturday night - let me know if you want the recipe. It was seriously good, Matt had second's!
-I started reading a new book by Candace Bushnell (author of Sex and the City) called Killing Monica and so far so good! I've only read a few chapters so far but I like the characters and where the plot is going so I'll let you know how it goes.
-I indulged in way too many bubble bath's. Is it sad that this is becoming the highlight of my day?
-We finished Season 6 of Entourage and started watching Season 7. I'm starting to get sad and slow down my daily intake of Entourage as I know there is only one more season to go and I will miss all the characters (especially Vince and Ari).
-I got up way too early on Sunday morning to meet my sister and parents for breakfast at a café all the way in Scarborough. It was worth it though - I will seriously do anything for my morning coffee fix.
-I had a cute lunch date with Matt. He has been stuck at home on couch-rest for the past few weeks after he had his knee reconstruction so it was nice to finally leave the house with him and go out on a date. We just had burgers for lunch and did some grocery shopping together but it was definitely the highlight of my weekend!
-I spent the rest of my Sunday doing all of the fun things like stocking up our fridge with groceries, cleaning, doing the washing and my favourite job, ironing! Just joking - I actually hate the ironing and will do almost anything to delay it each week.

There you have it, a week in the life of Gabrielle!

What have you been up to in the past week?
