retail therapy

Call me superficial if you like but shopping makes me happy! I love the rush that comes after hitting the shops for a quick spot of retail therapy, it just gives me an instant high and puts a smile on my face.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not a shopaholic and I don't spend out of my means ... I'd just prefer to go out on the weekend and spend $50 at the shops picking up little bits and pieces rather than spend that same $50 at a local bar on a few cocktails.

At the moment, I've really been loving new homewares purchases, so I thought I'd share a few pictures of things I bought over the weekend.

This rose gold candle and diffuser from Adairs - I've been lusting after these for ages but couldn't bear to pay the full price. Imagine how happy I was when I stumbled upon these on sale at my local store! Happy claps all around. I also love the scent - it smells very fresh with a slight fruity and sweet aroma.

This rose gold cushion also from Adairs - this was also on sale and helps to tie in all of the other rose gold elements in my bedroom ..... And this winged armchair from IKEA - it was love at first sight when I came across this chair on Friday night and I couldn't believe how cheap this was ... it came home with me that night

This marble doorstop from Kmart - such a bargain, marble is bang on trend at the moment ..... And these canisters from Myers - I use these to store all my teas, baking needs and pastas. They help keep my kitchen cupboard clean and tidy and also look pretty sitting on the shelves. Double win!

And here is the chair, cushion, candle and diffuser in my bedroom. My obsession with rose gold is at an all time high at the moment - it's just so pretty and girly! The leopard print throw is actually a scarf from Victoria's Secret which I picked up at the Perth Airport a few months ago when I was travelling for work. I think it works well and adds another dimension and pop of colour to my neutral room.

We're still debating on whether we are going to hang a TV up on the wall or a piece of artwork - I say TV, I love snuggling into bed at the end of a long day and catching up on some trashy reality shows!

What do you think?

xx G

  1. I'm with you on a little retail therapy - have been freshening up the home with some items for spring of late. It's amazing how just one new thing can make you re-arrange a whole room. Or is that just me?!!

    1. No that's definitely me - or at least the excuse I tell my significant other! One tiny purchase can change the whole feel of the room, and then you just HAVE to change everything else to suit!
