top five face masks

I've mentioned before just how much I love face masks so I thought it was time to share a few of my favourites with you.

I have combination skin so I keep a good variety of masks on hand to suit whatever my skin feels like doing on the day!

The GlamGlow youth mud mask is great for tackling problem skin. I purchased this in the Hawaii Sephora last year after I was coming out of a bad breakout period. I used this alongside the GlamGlow Super Mud Clearing Treatment and have to say my skin really benefited from this product. This is a nice one to use in the bath - the longer you leave it on your face the better!

The Sanctuary Spa deep cleanse mask is a cheap and cheerful product I picked up during one of Priceline's 40 per cent off skincare events. This product heats up when you apply it to a damp face (again great for the bath or after a shower) so is perfect for warming up in winter time. Another good one for helping to clear acne - I apply every month when I get those pesky hormonal breakouts.

I love The Face Shop's sheet masks in various flavours - if I had to pick a favourite it would be the honey or blueberry versions, they are both refreshing and provide a quick hit of moisture to the face. These make great stocking stuffers - my fiance always picks a couple up for me every Christmas.

I tend to get dry patches around my nose and apply the Origins drink up mask as a spot product every few nights. It also works great on dry sunburned skin or as an in-flight mask to prevent your skin drying out from the airpressure. I love sleeping in this - it smells beautiful and I wake up with hydrated and smooth skin.

The Ole Henriksen lemon strip flash peel is without doubt, the best skincare product I have ever invested in. I use this on the days my skin is feeling polluted and dull and I'm always amazed at how bright and fresh my skin looks after. Be prepared to feel a tingle - depending on the state of your skin it may feel very strong. I personally use acid toning products every other night so this product doesn't tend to hurt my face, but I can still definitely feel it tingle when I apply.

Last but not least, the Chanel ultra correction lift mask is a great product for aging skin or to prevent aging. I purchased this product a few years ago on a whim after noticing beautiful, radiant skin on one of the Chanel consultant's. She said she had been religiously using this product once a week since it was released and credited it for working wonders on her skin. You'll definitely feel your skin tighten when you apply this - but in a very good way!

There you have it ... my favourite face masks. I'm a bit of a face mask hoarder so really could have gone on for days talking about some of the other products I have tried in the past. A few other great ones that come to mind are Miranda Kerr's brand Kora Organics - who do a great hydrating mask (similar to Origin's but clay-like in texture) available at David Jones and Ren's Glycolactic Radiance Renewal Mask (similar to the Ole Henriksen) available at Mecca.

Let me know if you found this post useful and if you have any specific skincare concerns please don't hesitate to get in touch and I can let you know if I have tried anything that might be better suited to you.

Hope you are all having a great Monday.

xx G
