how to brighten your weekend in one easy step

Buy a big bunch of fresh flowers for yourself and distribute them around your home!

You can't dispute the power of fresh flowers for brightening up your home, adding that finished, polished look and putting a smile on your face.

These days buying a bunch of flowers doesn't have to be an expensive exercise, you can find beautiful flowers at Coles, Woolworths, local greengrocers, farmers markets and cute pop-up flower studios who sell gorgeous seasonal flowers and Australian natives for reasonable prices.

Flowers are the one "treat myself" purchase I am not afraid of making as I really feel they lift my mood and spirit, and give me that little extra push I need to keep my house looking clean, tidy and beautiful.

Some of the blooms I have purchased around my home

For all my fellow Perthonians, I thought I would share a few of my favourite flower haunts ...

Floral Army, East Fremantle - I regularly pick up $15 bunches of seasonal blooms from this cute little local flower shop. There's also a few great coffee shops on the same strip, so the perfect excuse to catch up with a friend for breakfast and dash across the road for a flower run on your way home!
Fresh Provisions, Bicton - gourmet supermarket offering a range of Australian natives and other beautiful blooms. I like picking up King Proteas from here - they are a bargain at $7 a pop!
The Boatshed, Cottesloe - Another gourmet supermarket (my favourite in the whole of Perth) offering the most amazing selection of flowers including my favourite peonies, roses and everything in between
Little Posy Co, delivering across metro WA - beautiful daily posy for a set price of $30, love this as it is a Freo based business and I am really into supporting local gals at the moment!
Floral State, delivering across metro WA - gorgeous seasonal fishbowls using beautiful natives
The Flower Run, delivering across metro WA - another daily posy service for a set price of $30, perfect to send to your friend as a gift or treat yourself after a hard day at work
Natural Art Flowers, delivering across metro WA - my favourite flowers in the whole world - Rebecca Grace is a master at floral arrangements and this florist has been bookmarked on Matt's phone ... he knows I like the finer things in life!!
Woolworths, nationwide - I often pick up a cheap bunch of blooms from my local Woolies when I am doing a grocery shop. Sometimes you can nab on sale bunches for $5! Total bargain and I have found they actually last too.

So what are you waiting for, head out there and treat yourself this weekend to a beautiful bunch of blooms.

  2. I agree flowers in the house is an instant mood lifter!
I go to the florists along Beaufort St in Mount Lawley there are about 4 florists all together and they are cheap too. I made my own flowers for my wedding and got all the flowers from there to make the bouquets, buttonholes and corsages and they were really reasonably priced for a DIY bride :)

    1. Oh thanks for the hot tip! Will have to try them out soon. Hands down to you for taking that on yourself, I would love to make my own bouquets but always thought it would be way too much work for me to take on for my own wedding day xx
